Constellation Overdrive is an evolving interactive audio-visual piece created with collaborator Val Storm at openStarSystems, allowing participants to link together as a star constellation while moving through a fluid nebula-like particle simulation. We have presented iterations of it at multiple events including Pickathon 2019.
The piece utilizes a Kinect v2 to track hands and heads of up to 6 viewers, allowing them to directly alter the flow of particles with their movements in real time. It was created with Processing 3.0, and the movement of the particles controls and modulates an accompanying audio element created using Pure Data and Ableton.
